When this character joined us, he became famous as the guy who joined on a 90% paycut! :D And I didn’t know if it was something we should be proud of or not!
Then, saw his creds – BITS Pilani, Microsoft Head, Google India MD! :p
It was work from our own cities in those days. So he scheduled a virtual one on one with each of us. I remember talking to him about his and my college days. And then about family. And got to know he is a doting and proud father to his daughters and a lover boy at heart to his wife. And a pleasant person!
After that, we met at our monthly meets! But never really got a chance to know him in person!
It was in this offsite, where I got a glimpse of the warm person he is! When
I spotted him flaunting a college jacket that his daughter gave him!
Sang a karaoke song with him , Ye shaam mastaani– Just because he asked me to! – And officially became the worst singer of Indihood :p but it was fun!
In truth and dare, when he asked every guy in the hotel staff for a couple dance, and when those poor scared chaps refused out of fear and hesitation at the random request! He waltzed with Abhishek (lucky Abhishek :D)
He read out the dare to Lalit – to sing for someone [added by looking into his/her eyes on his own]! ,
And watched him and Lalit as a duo :p
He brings his signature warmth of a family guy and makes us feel like family in office! By taking pictures of us, with us, by talking to us! :D By playing truth and dare with us! And showing us how it is played!
Cancelling work related talks on offsite! and in meets wherever possible!
And giving people free bear hugs!
He actually does feel like a teddy bear!
All said and done, my favourite moment! was our offsite farewell. When he called me “beta”! :D and not just Vidhi 🙂
PS– Outside my family, "beta" is what a few of my teachers in VMC called me! And after around 11 years, it is Sanjay who called me “Beta”. :)
