I was looking forward to API integrations since eNACH (Something that would be used :p)!
After a few months, URL shortening came my way. It was an interesting piece! Zareer himself had given us a window of 20 days. Iss baar I had thought, I will do it properly. Went through some videos and docs, and started taking notes! In the morning Anubhav told me, you can connect for this one with Rahul!
I pinged him at around 1:30 pm to check if he had the documents or needed anything. He told me he was adding some code and would add me as a reviewer once he was done! Around 3, he shared his CL! The full CL! He had completed the integration! And tested it too!
I spent the rest of my day reviewing the code. -:p Not understanding a lot of parts. -:p
We had 20 days to do this, he did it in half. With testing. And believe me, it was even working. At least I got to test it :p
I was surprised. I thought we already did stuff pretty fast. But what was this ??
See, even if I did know Java inside out, I understood everything about our system, and API integrations, and how they were implemented in our system.. And wrote perfect code in the first go, even then I can't imagine writing that all in half a day.
We waited longer for the pipelines to build than the time he took to write the whole code.
I was sad, didn't get to write it! I knew I would have taken 20 days .. or more 😛 So, this time I was happy I got to review it :p..

So, the person who implemented it is Rahul. Qualifications side rakhte hain, they are not as good as his coding speed. In case you are interested – IIT D (Rank 72) - CS + Samsung Korea! Before he joined us :D
Whatever I ask him about anything tech, his answers were always on point and understandable. Something I still find hard to believe. Like if he is that good! How does he say it in a way I understand in the first go :p
Even Ashwin said - he is quite fast and that is something. (And Ashwin saying that is a compliment :D)

And squash too. Someone who can compete with Anand. The game was so exciting that we left our TT game in between to watch their squash match!

From first encounters to ..
You must be thinking, jis insaan ka pehla record aisa hai, wo aage kya hi aur karega! Let me tell you!
He created a system where we can use github to manage our work. This piece would single handedly make our lives easier and more organised. And whenever I think of the amount of work that would have gone into it, *sashtaang pranaam* :p
I thought he talked less, maybe he does! But you should see his documentation. They are as amazing and exceptional as his coding skills.
Wait, I am getting to the part outside work ! You know get surprises when you least expect them! He throws the best house parties. Is an amazing host! So, turns out to be a people’s person after all!
Personally, I can say that, because I have been fortunate to talk to him about the most random, work and non-work related things. And all of the conversations have been, for lack of an all-encompassing better word, feel-good. :P
